Freshmen 'Enjoy' Initiation Greenhorns Cleo Bidwell, Linda Lee, Don Franzen, Kirk Stanford and Floyd McKenney bow down to mighty sophomore Mervin Van Valkenburgh. Freshman students good-naturedly took their medicine as the sophomores officially initiated them into the Cascade family in October. Costumes were colorful and stunts orderly, and the day ended on a happy note with a soph-fresh-man mixer in the gym. Apparently enjoying their misery are Leroy Spack-man. Gene Runions, Gerald Lewis and Duane Mel-cher. Initiates in the chorus line do their best high kick before the student body assembly.

Future Homemakers Entertain District Meeting Always an active organization, the Cascade Future Homemakers of America were especially busy with their duties as host chapter for the annual North Willamette district meeting November 6. Heading the organization was Janet Crane, who had been elected district chairman in 1953. Visitors were impressed by the efficient and constructive meeting. Lettered on the curtain of the stage was the theme of the program United We Work for Better Homes.
