SENIOR CUSS HISTORY In the year 19U6, thirty-eight intelligent looking stu- dents entered T. H. S. as freshmen to spend the next four years of their lives. The first activity they performed during the year was to elect class officers. They were as follows: president, Wil- liam Bear; vice president, Harold Standley; secretary, Maxine Mickenham; treasurer, June Boyer with Mrs. Angus as class ad- visor. Next in line were two skating parties which were given in October and February. So ended the freshman year; all were glad to see the summer vacation. At the beginning of our sophomore year in 19U7 we had thirty-two pupils enrolled. Later in the year we gained three new students, but lost five. Our activities for the year were the Freshmen Initiation, held during the second week of school, one assembly program, and two skating parties, the last one being sponsored with the freshmen. Mrs. Speck was our class advisor. Thus end- ed our career as sophomores and we were one step nearer our goal. On September 20, thirty-seven eager, wide-eyed juniors entered the bracket of higher learning as upper classmen. With Miss Boetticher and Mrs. Angus as our class ad- visors, we sponsored a skating party and had charge of the Junior-Senior Prom. We also arranged for an exchange pro- gram with Cheraawa, and chose our class rings. Now ending our junior year we looked forward to our last year of school at T. H. S. We came back to school on September 12 with twenty-nine pupils to begin our last term of school at Turner. Our first big event was the Senior Class Play with Miss Stout as our advisor The money from the play was to be used for our senior week-end trip. Also sponsored by our class was a Valentine Dance. We then waited patiently for Baccalaureate and that great night when we would walk forward to receive our diplo- mas. Then for the last time we closed our books and bid T. H. S. a final farewell.
