Ninth Grade Cagers Head Toward Cascade's First Undefeated Season The Cascade ninth grade basketball squad was the highlight of the Cavalier sports season. The freshmen were looking toward Cascade's first undefeated season in any sport. The squad held a 11-0 record with only one game left to play as the yearbook went to press. The Cavaliers started off their winning ways by defeating the Castle Rock Rockets, 50-405 Cathlamet, 45-329 and Huntington, 44-37. The squad pulled off a fantastic defensive performance by whipping the Monticello Mustangs, 42-29. Another highlight of the season was the winning of the Cava.lier's one hundredth game. A strong second half gave the squad a 45-38 victory over a tough Coweeman Cougar team. A week later it slammed the same team, 47-36. With the help of Larry Hahka's school record of making 12 out of 12 free throws, the Cavaliers defeated Cathlamet by a score of 54-30. The next time out, the Cavaliers trounced Huntington, 45-28. Hahka again led Cascade with 13 points. The freshmen came through with their eleventh straight win by smashing Chehalis, 64-12.
