Freshmen Bottle to Second Place The frosh team, with some ,big midseason wins, ended the football season with a 4-2 record, good enough for second place in the Cowlitz Valley League. Monticello again caused the Cavalier's downfall. Cascade was stunned in its first outing against the Monticello Mustangs 20-0. The Cavaliers outplayed their cross-town rivals in the first quarter, but stumbled during the final three periods. The freshmen started their winning ways by defeating Chehalis 15-0, Huntington 19-O and Castle Rock 28-13. Randy Lemiere, Paul Orth, Larry Rapp, Gary Patton and Arne Wayrynen reached paydirt in those games. Jim Pollock, John Mason and Stuart Smith were standouts on defense. Monticello stopped Cascade 26-0 for its second victory Cavalier Coach Bernard Donahue phones helpful information from the roof. The stadium roof provides a good vantage point. over the Cavaliers. A poor defensive effort plagued the black mob. Cascade's final victory was the 20-0 stomping of Coweeman on a rain drenched field. Paul Orth scored two touchdowns and Larry Grant, one. Rick White turned in a key defensive performance. Award winners for the year are Randy Lemiere, most valuable playerg Arne Wayrynen, coaches' awardg John Mason, best defensive backg Phil Rogen, best defensive linemang and Jim Pollock, best offensive lineman. Orth led all scorers during the season with 33 points. Lemiere scored two touchdowns and three three scoring aerials. Lemiere and Pollock led the defensive in tackles throughout the season. Mason led in interceptions with three steals. Randy Lemiere sprints around the Castle Rock end for a second quarter touchdown. Castle Rock cheerleaders are welcomed by members of the Cascade Pep Staff. '- ' ---sq.. --. ' ' ' ' V
