JJ I I I I I 2 The music department presented their fourth annual operetta on the 9th, IOth, IIth, and I2th ot May. This year's presentation was Rogers and Hammer- stein's OKLAHOMA based on Lynn Riggs Green Grow the Lilacs. The story comes out ot the period ot American history when the farmers were moving west. It is the Iove story ot Curly, a cowboy, and Laurie, a farm girl, who are caught in the struggle to unite the cowman and the farmer. They find that the country's a-changin, got to change with it.

The mood was set with a new idea in bands, The Stagemenf' The theme Al de la, an Italian song title, was carried out beautifully in the Italian decorations and programs. Nothing could have been prettier than the lovely parade ot new tormals against the beautiful Venice back- grounds. The General Chairmen were: Roxanne Blair, Pam Danner, Jerry Loomer, and Jim Iles. The other chair- men were as follows: decorations, Lois Harstead and James Thomas, show- case, Jeanette Halverson and Cindy Gronski, picture scene, Dawn White- head and Nancy Jackson, refresh- ments, Kay Dorn and Carol Davis, pro- grams and tickets, Sharon Helaas and Lynda Woods, entertainment, Morrie Anderson and Janice Pilskog, coat room, Jill Hatley and Terrie Davis, clean-up, Linda Olson and Chris John- son, publicity, Sheryl Olson, fund rais- ing, Donna Berry, and chaperones, Darlene Peterson and Dianne Ander- son.
