Stage and Pep Bands Sound Off Pep Band The Pep Band ot '66 - 67 added pride and excitement to Cascade by performing at all pep assemblies and home basketball games. Member- ship in the band is an honor restricted to the choice ot the director, Mr. Kraintz. The band practiced after school hours. Raw 3: Martin Schneider, Dan Leyde, Darrell Phinney, Dan Green, Rick Gumke, Dave Martinson, Jim Barrows, Bill Lagenfelder. Row 4: Pete Almgren, Jim Smith, Steve Elke, Bob Jenkins, Norm Gleason. Stage Band I Contemporary jazz music, played tor concerts and civic tunctions, was the business ot the Stage Band this year. This very select group in- cluded only the best players of the main band's sections. Mr. Kraintz, the director, chose the members. Business A Education Club The Business Education Club, advised by Mr. Bestul and Miss Osterhout, gave an op- portunity to students interes- ted in a secreterial job or business occupation to de- velop competent business leadership and to create in- terest in business occupa- tions. The various activities they organized were bake sales, sending a Christmas card to Viet Nam, and field trips. Also, tor interested stu- dents, the club provided tilms and speakers. fg DECA DECA, a chapter ot Distribu- tive Education Clubs ot Am- erica, coordinated by Mr. Brooks, provided opportun- ity tor leadership experience and aimed to develop tuture leaders in marketing and distribution. Employees and employers met at a banquet near the end ot the semester to honor local businessmen who provided training tor the students.
