CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1958, 17 members of the class of '62 started their Freshman year at Cascade High School. They were Carol Adams, J. V. Carson, George Clinger, Bob Collins, Julia Ferguson, Bill Flechsenhar, Maryann Hocevar, Sherry Hunter, Pat Kinkaid, Margie Lovcik, Darlene Podvin, Pat Rieke, Karen Sallee, Bob Seward, Sharon Vaughn and Carol Von Stein. Our class sponsor for our four years was Mr. Halverson. Class officers were Bill Flechsenhar, President; Maryann Hocevar, Vice President; Pat Rieke, Secretary; and Margie Lovcik, Treasurer. We were initiated by the Mighty Sophomores and then, to show there weren't ill-feelings, we gave a dance to honor them. Our other activities during the year were a Pixie Dance, Noise Rally and first place on our Western Days float in the Ketochi parade. Our Sophomore year opened with the initiation of the lowly Freshmen. New additions to our class, and we needed them, were Billie Jones, Clarence Jones, and Cynda Hanson. Our losses were Carol Adams, Bob Collins, Pat Kinkaid, Karen Sallee, Bob Seward, Sharon Vaughn, George Johnsrud, Ida and Pauline Belgard, Kathy Richter, and Dennis Rosmiller. The Class officers were: Bill Flechsenhar, President; Carol Von Stein, Vice President; Pat Rieke, Secretary; Sherry Hunter, Treasurer. That year we had rag sales, the Western Dance, raffle, and first place on our Ketochi Day Float. Bill Flechsenhar received the best-dressed-girl award. For our float we portrayed an Alaskan and a Hawaiian scene. For our Junior year, Gary Bergum, Mary Helman, Jim Lantz, John Lindseth, Richard Wright, and Jim Waddell joined us. Our number was lessened by the loss of Billie Jones and Clarence Jones. The officers for the year were: Pat Rieke, President; Richard Wright, Vice President; Margie Lovcik, Treasurer; and Sherry Hunter, Secretary. Sherry soon left us and Cynda Hanson was elected. Then Cynda left and Mary- ann was placed into office. Mary Ann stayed with us, she wouldn't let the job get her down. Mary Hel- man departed also. Highlights of the junior year were: ordering our class rings, a float for Homecoming, the Western Dance, our class play, and Junior Prom; Aloha Oe. Seniors at last! Donald Dedman and Barbara Maxwell joined our class at the beginning of the year and Barbara Tolman came to us later. Margie Lovcik was not with us this year. It was a busy year for all. There was the Homecoming float, Sadie Hawkins Dance, Christmas Ball, ordering announcements, putting out the Ketochi, Sneak Trip, Baccalaureate and most important of all, Graduation. These four years in high school have been very happy ones for us and we hope our future proves to be the same.
