Some have left school completely to carry on life's necessities, while others have found that the two aspects may be combined in one picture. Represented by Commander C. Attired in satin gowns and tuxedos, they sang at social functions, lectureships, on T.V., and at college activities. Their longest voyage was the trip to Southern California. Bonfires, pep ral- lies, and the initiative of members of the team built school spirit to a fever pitch before games. A climax was reached with the bonfire crowning of the Football Court - Queen Marilyn Marks and Princesses Verleen Hutchins and June Geyer. Memo- rable during the season were the games with arch-rivals Reed and Concordia. To watch our boys play, spectators stood in the rain, spent hours cutting boxes of confetti, screamed until hoarse, and were wildly en- thusiastic about the rough and tumble sport of football. .K K Q X K 1 Q. fn' MV' iff.: J' ,W f .i Q . 0 I ' , -V K , , vm? fi . lim ' -,f . , V - J- ws Q , QW., uf. Scores were breathlessly close and the action tast and turious. Team- work was the password and the boys really clicked. A highlight came at the close ot the season with the Coronation ot the Basketball Queen, Rowena An- derson, and Princesses Roberta Earhart and Verleen Hutchins. Phil' Fields, Clip- per captain and Consistantly high scorer on the Clipper team, holds the enviable position ot being one ot the high scorers in the Willamette Christian College Con- ference League, ot which we are a member.
