Foreword IT IS OT LIKELY THAT A MAN WILL FORGET A YEAR OF HIS LIFE. BUT THE MONTHS DO PASS AND MEMORIES DO FADE. IN ORDER THAT YOU MAY REMEMBER THE DAYS AND NIGHTS, THE WINDS AND THE RAINS, THE BOAT CALLS, THE CHIPPING HAMMERS, THE ALARMS, THE TIMES OF WAITING . . .
