During the summer, construction of the pool was started, and the pool Was finally com- pleted in the early part of November. After Waiting for 3 years to have a pool constructed it's ready for the dreaded swimming classes in P.E. The pool will provide enjoy- ment for Casa Roble students. VU' Freshmen Are Welcomed Freshmen Orientation Was held on August 26, at 9:00. New students and Freshmen were told about Casa Roble's rules and regulations. Counselors, deans, and Administrators were intro- duced ,to the assembly. Student Council members gave a short speech. The cheerleaders and songleaders gave one of their funny skits. Yearbooks and Student Body Cards were sold, to the eager students. s Confusion on the First Day. .. The first day of school always provides confusion as well as excitement. Schedules have to be adjusted- you have to wait in a long line at the Guidance office to get it fixed right. Students end up in the wrong class, only to be late to the next class. Even though there are problems the lst day of school-everyone is glad to be back and see all their friends, meet new friends, and find new goals to reach. E r 6 RaIIy's Boost Spirit!!! sw f Marconi Technical Center Many students from Casa Rohle are involved in taking courses at Marconi Technical Center. The courses offered are drafting, electronics, automo- tive, coniputers, graphic reproduction. These courses have enabled for getting jobs. To earn a grade, you must have on the job training. Marconi Technical Center courses are only offered to junior and Seniors. Transportation is offered by the district, and Casa Roble attends the morning 1 session. 8 . Campaign Assemblies Are Vital Part of Student Government Students who take part by running for an office help make our school better, because they care. lt's hard to get up in front ol' every- one to give a speech. The moments before going up to the micro- phone, then linally getting up there are the hardest thing to be able to do ealmly. Every student should be interested in voting- because the students you elect represent youll! Students Are Involved in Many Activities . i io, Safety Comes First!! Each year our great Safety Council has a safety check. Our Safety Council has Won many national awards for their outstanding traffic checks. These safety checks aid the students as well as getting them out of class. Parent, teachers-as well as students have their cars safety checked. The Council is advised by Mr. Bower. Keep up the good Work Rains! 0 Casa RobIe's Homecoming J! ni W First Time Around!!! Casa Roble at long last had their lst Hoinecoining. The theine of Hoinecoin- ing was First Tinie Around . Activi- ties for the week included a Powder Puff Football Gaine-junior Girls against Senior Girls. Friday was color day and a spirit rally. The gaine, held on October 31st was against La Sierra. At halt-time the floats were judged, and the Seniors Won Ist place. At half-time of the Varsity game the Queen Was announced by Mark Fergueson - Vicki Mills was our lst Hoinecoining Queen!!! 5? .ff 'Q K if t t 9 iicic K, Faculty Play An Important Role , . ,WU The members of the faculty are one of the most important people on campus. Without their co-operation and help we would not be able to have as many activities as we do. The faculty aid those students in need of help. Besides the students are grateful to the faculty for helping make C.R. great. , J l4 Upperclassmen Lead the Way! .A md- Underclassmen in Action!! 16 FAC U LTY Superintendent of the San Juan Unified School District This yearbook representing as it does the fine program of student activities in the Casa Roble High School for 69-70, will be something that you Will cherish for years to come. You will look back on your high school career and be reminded of the many outstanding events which took place. The Casa Roble student body is establishing a reputation for outstanding academic achievements, sincere demonstration for a sound education on the part of all its students and a courage and dedication for interscholastic activities in the district where the competition is extremely keen. You are to be commended that in spite of the fact that you have not Won an equitable share of games, you have exercised outstanding sportsmanship throughout your high school careers. Your faculty is outstanding in every respect, your administration is dedicated to your Welfare and Well-being, but most of all you as students are to be commended for your contributions to the educational program of your school. lt is very refreshing to note that during the period when many stu- dents throughout the nation were creating chaos and confusion, you were learning how to solve your problems in a creative, straight-forward manner. Ferd. J. Kiesel 18 Administrators Show Interest Thisyissue of Rampages represents a farewell to the class of l97O, and so this message is to you, 1970 graduates. During your four years at Casa Roble you have laid the cornerstone of your education for living. You have experienced that which formal education has had to offer you. You have been cautioned to learn well for on your shoulders you carry not only the burden of doing well for your parents' sake and for your own sake, but the burden of doing well for the sake of all mankind. As you now face the wide vistas of the adult world, have strength enough and wisdom enough and courage enough to handle anything that might come your way. Don't stand in your own shadowg get your LITTLE self out of the way so your BIG self can stride forward. Make the most of your self by fanning the tiny spark of possibility within you into the flame of achievement. Remember that the art of achievement is the art of making life---your life---a masterpiece. Renee O. Mason Relfe W. Leavitt 19 Renee O. The staff Wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Bill Smith Studio's, Mr. Dick Daniels, American Yearbook Representative, Mr. Leavitt, our principal, Miss Masson, our vice-principal, Miss Christopherson, our advisor.
