French club contributes many activities involving students and the community at large. The French Club sponsor is Mrs. Barbara Elliot. OVW Working the concession stands during football games is just one of the many ways clubs earn money for projects. Luis Flores, president of the Mexican American Club, makes popcorn for hungry football fans. Sean McHaney, French club treasurer, enjoyed the french dinner at the end of the year. Club add culture to clzool Viva France This is the motto used by the French Club members. The French Club helps its members get a better understand- ing of France. This is a very exciting club and a credit to the French culture. said member Fred Straaps. The reason the club was started was to give its members a feeling for its culture. The more you know about one culture the more you learn about your own, said member Sean McHaney. The group has many sales throughout the year. They sell everything from candy to crepes. To be a part of French Club all you have to do is attend meetings and be a part of the activi- ties. Denise Draper said, It was an exper- ience of a lifetime to be a part of the French Club. The Amerind Club helps students gain an understanding of their natural culture. I think that most Indian students are not aware of the fun and understanding that can come from such a group like Amer- ind,', said member Anthony Thomas. The club was started to promote culture sensi- tivity on campus. You do not need to have an Indian background to be in the group, all you need is to have an interest in the cul- ture. The Mexican American Club is here to help the Mexican students feel more secure about their culture. President Luis Flores said, The Mexican American Club has helped me get involved in the school and the community. 25

Varsity Cheers can be seen at all Varsity football and basketball games. Cheer works hard to perfect their routines. Each routine must be executed smoothly and quickly. It is also the job of cheer to uphold school spirit at away games and to keep the audi- ence cheering.
