Groups join to catch the spirit! If anything on campus defines spirit, it's the Cougar groups. These groups, from academic decathlon to the choruses, promote spirit wherev- er they go. Just imagine a football game With no band, no cheerleaders and no refreshments. Without groups, that's what every game would be like. One dedicated group is the band. This year's band was one of the best in a long time. Several new clubs such as ICAAN, Students for Multi-Cultural Under- standing, and SADD did their best to promote spirit. Many other clubs also shared their high spirits with us, like the cultural clubs: French, Mexi- can-American and Amerind. They provided us with concessions at sev- eral games, and kept spirits high. You can see members of these clubs at most school functions. What groups best spell spirit? It must be pom and cheer. They per- form at all home football and basket- ball games. They yell and dance their Way into our hearts. Who makes this all possible? That's our student council. These individuals are always doing their best to pro- mote spirit. Other groups such as academic de- cathlon and speech compete. Nation- al Honor Society members must be active as well as getting good grades. Choruses compete as well as enter- tain. One of the most active groups is the Key Club. They promote spirit in the community as well as in the school. Clubs like FCA, Drama and Thespians also participate in many community functions. Business clubs like DECA and FBLA compete with others in conferences and share their Cougar spirit with other schools. Vo- cational clubs like electronics and FFA add to the wide variety of clubs we have.
