Bebttatton The 1968 Senior Class proudly and withdeep appreciation dedicates this volume to Mrs. Doris L. Robinson for her never-tiring willingness to help students—aca- demically and otherwise through her advising, her exemplification of professional competence, and her devoted dedication to Carver and education. She hails from Montgomery, Alabama. Her academic standings are as follows: She received a B. S. degree from Alabama State Teacher's College where she majored in Social Studies and English. Presently, she is serving as sponsor of the class of '68. To further the staffs dedication choice, we take these lines from Matthew Arnold's Rugby Chapel which are helpful, but still inadequate. If in the paths of the world Stones might have wounded thy feet, Toil or dejection have tried Thy spirit, or that we saw Nothing—to us thou wast still Cheerful, and helpful, and firm] Languor is not in your he an Weakness is not in your word. Weariness not on your brow.

(£htWs Message On behalf of the 1968 Trojan annual staff, I take great pride and pleasure in expressing my deepest gratitude and appreciation for having been chosen to serve in the production and publication of this yearbook. In the years ahead, as you browse through this yearbook and relive the happy and ever lasting memories of schoolmates, teachers, and events that have highlighted your memories and desires to accomplish the worth- while things in life and to live up to the best that is within you. May your life echo the words of the prayer St. Francis of Assisi: Lord make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; Where there is sadness, joy; Oh, Divine Master, grant that I may seek not so much to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; for it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned. And it is in dying that we are bom to eternal life. Also I wish for you, all the success to which you are entitled, and all the happiness and pleasures that the life you live justifies. Keep looking up, out, and forward, life is just an employer who will pay no mftre than you earn! ✓ Vonnie M. Barnes Editor-in-Chief
