To The Members Of The Class Of 1966: It is a pleasure for me to greet you on the eve of your graduation in your 1966 Trojan. Your graduation will climax many things that you have carefully preserved in your year- book. Graduation is not only important in relation to the school’s events that it concludes, but is also an important and memorable event for one’s whole career. We know that for you this marks the realization of a very fond hope and the fu lfillment of a great dream. You are now privileged to move beyond the formal experiences of the high school to the freedom and responsibilities that lie beyond. As you leave us, hope that you will keep your perspective and that you will acquire and maintain worthy goals in life. High school graduation should and must represent more than the accumulation of a re- quired number of academic or subject matter points. It should involve the acquisition of desirable and worthwhile attitudes toward life and also the ability to discriminate in one’s actions. It is in these qualities that we look for and expect excellence among our graduates. It is by these standards that you, the members of the Class of 1966 will be tested. We trust that your associations at Carver High School have strengthened you to the extent that you are able to face the future without fear. Those of us whom you will leave behind will have an abiding interest in each of you.
