The majority of us entered the Warwick School System at Newsome Park Elementary School. During our elementary training, persons from all over the United States came to join us in our struggle to achieve our goal. In 1954, we entered the doors of our dear Alma Mater, George W. Carver High School, as frightened eighth graders. The eighth grade presented us with many activities. Some of those activities were: Student Council, Student Patrol, Glee Club and some athletic events. By participating in these various activities, we began to feel as though we were a part of Carver and its lovely family. To us, the role of freshmen was something great, for we had reached a step higher in achieving our goal. We then journeyed on, and as we journeyed, many departed from us, some attending other schools and others facing life at an early age. Still there were others who consoled themselves to continue, until the task was completed. Even though we lost friends, we gained many. Our sophomore year was not too exciting, but we learned more about high school life and its obligations. The year swiftly approached and we were Juniors, the second ranking class in the school. Being a Junior was indeed an honor and a privilege for us all, This year was one of the most exciting ones. The most joyous event of our entire school life was The Junior-Senior Prom, the event that we had anx- iously anticipated. Even though we were only one level lower, we still looked forward to the time when we would be Dignified Seniors. CLASS HISTORY As we entered the doors of Carver in the year of 1958-59, the Juniors of yesteryear had become proud Seniors. Even though our hearts were overwhelm- ed with the title, we have tried to live up to our classification. As we look over the four years behind us, we can see some of the things that we have helped to create. Knowledge gained through books and school experiences will remain with us through the years. As we leave Carver this year, we shall endeavor to use the knowledge that we have obtained in the making of a happier and more peaceful place in which to live.
