Z- ' it , The Main Building The Hall Annex SENIOR HI- LITE The school year of 1951 - 52 is growing to a close, at least for the Seniors of the Carver High School. Six years of learning from the halls of opportunity are ours. The students are very busy this closing year. A year which we have looked forward to has come and soon will carry us out into the world of our unforeseen future. Before going, the class of 52 wished to say their farewells and have their last fragments of joy in the Carver High School. lt seems as if just yesterday was September the eighth, nineteen hundred and forty - six. The trees were green, the birds were singing, and the sun shone brightly. It was a beautiful day when 42 eager pupile registered in the old Carver High School, which then consisted of the present Elementary School building, The Elks Hall, the basement of the St. James A, U, M,P, Church, and an annex used for shop work. Our backgrounds were varied as we hailed from elementary schools all over the northern section of Baltimore county. Some of the schools have been since discontinued, victims of a new progressive era. The class of 52 are pioneers under the new 6 - 3 - 3 system of education. During the last six years we have watched all of the elementary schools slowly changed until now, none have more than six beginning grades. Ofour beginning schools, Luthervllle and Longreen have been closed, and Shepperd finally sent its last seventh grade to us at the beginning of the new year, 1952. The Basement Annex The Shop Annex
