A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR The five hundred or more young people and adults from our city and neighboring communities studying at Carver College this year re¬ present real and potential leadership and citizenship. It is the purpose of Carver College to provide the best conditions possible for the all¬ round development of worthy students. The administration realizes that it must acquire a keen sense of duty and responsibility to each student in his quest for knowledge and opportunity to work in the local community. Carver College today is a relatively small school--many times larger than in 1949 when founded--yet small enough that every stu¬ dent is known individually; consequently, we know your aspirations. By working with leaders in our community, we are able to create an aware¬ ness of the needs of all you among the total citizenry and will work for the type and quality of education necessary for profitable employment and wholesome living. The future of o u r college is bright. We will grow, for there are many needs that can be resolved by our college. Doing a job well has always been a strong desire of our staff and students. In recognition of superior work done , high standards will be set and our students should become more efficient and helpful. Always remember that, through a formal program of discipline and training, our educational institutions are designed to develop you and other persons who wish to equip themselves with information, techniques, and strong character, all of which are necessary for service.
