A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR I would like very much to convey to the students of Carver College exactly how I feel about our school and our hopes for the future. I doubt whether anyone can seriously question this one basic fact that education, now, as it has been for all the centuries of man, remains the key to a better life, both economically and spiritually. What we are trying so hard to do here at Carver, with the help and co-operation of the educational authorities of this community and state, is to create for our students the atmosphere and the facilities which a previous generation did not have, and which are so necessary to bring to us a higher standard of living. We desire to provide for our students challenges which will create initiative, and or arouse latent abilities so as to be assured of the full development of every student ' s potentialities. It is not an easy road, I know, but it is the only safe road, if we are to look forward to a better life for ourselves and for our children to come. This yearbook, which is a record of your years at Carver should be more than a memento. It should serve as a stimulus for the achievement of whatever goals you have set for your selves.
