1 C.H.S. PRIDE SHOWN IN 1986 was The Year of the Tiger. The year itself started out much like any other year. The Seniors were more than pleased to be the superiors, the Freshmen were trying to get used to the changes they were encountering and the Sophomores and Juniors were just glad to be here. A new club was formed called the Top Cats. Its intention was to boost student spirit. All in all, it seemed to go over quite well. The club took buses to football games and even helped the Cheerleaders. Many times their faces were decorated with red Tiger paws to support our team. Though we lost our Homecoming game against Kennett, the dance was a success. Maggie George was crowned queen. After Christmas break, the Tiger Basketball season began. Though they were seeded last, the Tigers came back and won their Conference Tournament. The Cotton Blossom Staff sponsored its annual dance on February 22. Five candidates were chosen and Ashlea Hardesty was crowned 2

k THE YEAR OF THE TIGER | queen. Spring finally made it and the Boys’ Tennis team finished second over all and achieved a season record of eleven wins and two losses. For the fourth year in a row, the Tiger Baseball team won at District. After a great Junior-Senior Prom, everyone anxiously awaited Graduation. The Commencement exercises were held on May 29 and the Seniors were finally free. All the good times and fun that we shared in ’86 truly made it The Year of the Tiger! 3
