The Tiger cagers went through their worst season in history as they lost every game enroute to a 0-21 season. In February the annual Cotton Blossom Dance was held with Anna Nelson being crowned the Queen. The rest of the school celebrated with Anna making it one of the most successful Cotton Blossom Dances ever. The spring sports did very well for Caruthersville High School with the most celebrated team being the Tiger baseball team. They enjoyed one of their finest seasons in their brief history as they won the district championship and went to the state playoffs before they were finally beaten. The club will lose many key players but we will be hearing from the baseball team in the years to come. The biggest thing the spring has to offer at Caruthersville High School is the Prom, the biggest event of the year. This year’s Prom was one to be celebrated as the Juniors did an excellent job of decorating the gym and Community 5 Center. The night was a very special one for many couples at CHS and

I The year 1985 was one big Celebration! and the students at CHS had a lot of things to celebrate. It all began the first day of school. The freshmen were anxious; the sophomores glad not to be the underdog; the juniors looking forward to Prom; and last, the Seniors were celebrating their final year of high school. The football season started the first week of school. The Tiger boys had a tough season and fought long and hard but just couldn’t get the breaks. Everyone celebrated at the Homecoming game as Jerrianne Malone was crowned Homecoming Queen and the Tigers won over the East Prairie Eagles. After that came the Christmas holidays which were a great break for all the students, even though they were shorter than usual. But we got more vacation days in the next couple of weeks as school was cancelled several times because of the snow. The Basketball season was in full swing after the Christmas break, but our team wasn’t. 4

many memories were made. After the Prom the Seniors didn’t have long to go. They all enjoyed their last weeks of school as they walked the halls of Caruthersville High School for the last time. The Senior Class of 1985 was one celebrating class. They will forever be known for their celebration habits. Nobody will ever forget those special times they had and the special friends they made.Then it was indeed time to celebrate. Graduation was held on May 30, 1985 ending all of the celebration activities for the school but the students of CHS especially the Seniors will celebrate for the rest of their lives. As to the future — Celebrate good times ... come on!!!” 6
