EYE OF THE TIGER Risin' up — back on the street, did my time, took my chances Went the distance now I'm back on my feet Just a man and his will to survive — So many times, it happens too fast. You trade your passion for glory. Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past. You must fight just to keep them alive — It's the Eye of the Tiger, it's the thrill of the fight, Risin up to the challenge of our rival. And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night. And he's watching us all with the Eye of the Tiger. Face to face — out in the heat, hangin' tough, stayin' hungry They stack the odds still we take to the streets For the kill with the skill to survive — It's the Eye of the Tiger, it's the thrill of the fight. Rising up to the challenge of our rival. And the last known survivor stalks his prey, in the night. And he's watching us all with the Eye of the Tiger. Risin' up — straight to the top, had the guts, got the glory Went the distance, now I'm not gonna stop Just a man and his will to survive — It's the Eye of the Tiger, it's the thrill of the fight. Rising up to the challenge of our rival. And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night. And he's watching us all with the Eye of the Tiger. 1982 Ftoly Moley Music, Rude Music (BMI), WB Music Corp. and Easy Action Music (ASCAP)
Anna Nelson (Sophomore) Joyce Bowens (|unior) Jesse Foreman, Darell Hayes, Alphonso Prather and Jerry McKiilion (Juniors) Gwen George (Junior) The Eye of The Tiger can see the many things that make CHS the school that it is. Its eye holds all the memories that we sometimes have forgotten and that we would like to recall. It makes us wonder what we all would see if we could just look back through the eye of the tiger. We would remember the winning season in sports and band and chorus competitions. Even when we might focus on the bad aspects of something, the Tiger always sees the good in each area. The never-failing eye saw us through football season, the Christmas holidays, basketball season. Cotton Blossom, Prom Night and the final event — graduation. It saw the Seniors through their last and most exciting year. It observed the Juniors through their long hours of work at the concession stand and decorating for the prom. Sophomores were seen through a second year of hard work and participation, and Freshmen — it was only the beginning for them. The Eye of the Tiger watches us when we fail and helps us to see the good in everything and pick ourselves back up to start again. By starting again we will make a success of our lives. We will grow and leam to hurdle problems that would have brought us down before. Now we have the strength to climb the mountain of life and, one day, we will be able to look back at our high school years and see them in much the same way as the Eye of the Tiger did. 3
