COTTON BLOSSOM 1973 Camthersville High School Camthersville, Missouri Volume 24 ROSIE TAYLOR - 1972 I SHALL NOT PASS AGAIN THIS WAY Anonymous The bread that bringeth strength I want to give. The water pure that bids the thirsty live: I want to help the fainting day by day; I’m sure I shall not pass again this way. I want to give the oil of joy for tears. The faith to conquer crowding doubts and fears. Beauty for ashes may I give alway: I'm sure I shall not pass again this way. I want to give some measure running o’er. And into angry hearts I want to pour The answer soft that turneth wrath away; I'm sure I shall not pass again this way. I want to give to others hope and faith, I want to do all that the Master saith; I want to live aright from day to day; I'm sure I shall not pass again this way. DEDICATED TO THOSE WHO ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR WORLD! The car has made our cities uninhabitable. It is also the best way to escape them. Hurry and take the road to the roadless area, because it won't be roadless long. Too much demand. The gas pump doesn't know the beauty which it helped to see; and so the gas tax comes pouring in and the pavement comes pouring out. And so we push the Big Wheel nearer the edge. The land of the free and the home of the auto dump. But man was born to wander. We must look funny to Someone, Jumbling through the universe locked in a death grip with out tiny ball Earth and ripping her busily to pieces trailing a stinking film of gas and pieces of satellites and mushroom and dust clouds. Think of her new. An unspoiled country lying open to the sun. Think of oceans of beauty, instead of scattered puddles, muddy and drying up. What can make the heart ache more than a billboard? Man always kills the thing he loves, and so we pioneers have killed our wilderness. Along with the Senior year, however, came the sudden realization that the end of the year brought graduation. From Orientation Week through the May Prom, the Seniors got involved with the enthusiasm of people who know they are on the last step of the journey through high school. The year was busy and didn't leave much time for sadness. Seniors ordered graduation announcements, held the highest positions in school organizations, and claimed awards at Honor Recognition Day Assembly. It was a busy year, but an eventful one for this graduating class. The young men and women leaving the school this year will be missed by the underclassmen as well as the faculty. 20 DEBRA JEAN BAXTER - FHA, Hist., Treas., Reg. Pres.; COTTON BLOSSOM BUS.
