Varsiy A F oolbal I i f 'Ml'- CENTER RIGHT: The Varsity football team BO'lTOlVl RIGHT: Varsity football team members were: First Row - David Watts, Eugene Hull, Arnold Vera, lVlario Romero, James Salmon, Manuel Rodrigues, Steve Hume, Second Row - lVlark Griffin, Ricky Tolentino, David Koop, Brent Willis, Dan Cornelious, Robert Waldrop, lVlark Silva, Third Row - Coach Gary Del Simone, Junior Garza, lVlatt Hammond, Bert Acevedo, Steve Cardoza, Garvin East, Terry Hemmen, and Assistant Coach Frank Warren. captains were: Mark Silva, Bert Acevedo, Coach Gary Del Simone, and Junior Garza. The Caruthers High Varsity Football Team entered a tough new league this past year. They played teams such as Woodlake, Orosi, Riverdale, Lindsay and Immanuel. The Raiders were coached by Head Coach Gary Del Simone and Assistant Coach Frank Warren. Also lVlr. Ted Bair and lVlr. Bob Grifhn donated very much knowledge and time towards the Blue Raider Team. The Raiders ended the season with a 3-2 record, placing third in league. When Coach Del Simone was asked what he thought of this year's football team, he had alot to say, such as, the team had a two word slogan, Ulfun and Discipline. He also said the team was a great group to be around and that they were very competitive. Coach Del Simone was proud to be a part of them, 25
