Raider James Edward Salmon has been chosen as this year's Raider by the graduating class of 1981. James is a warm and affectionate person who loves to be the center of attention and can usually be found, surrounded by a mob of girls. As a senior James played varsity football, was a captain of the varsity tennis team, served as sergeant-at- arms for the senior class student body, and was a member of l.ettermen's Club. During his junior year, James was on the varisty basketball team, served as captain of the varsity tennis team, and was a member of Lettermen's Club. In his sophomore year, James played both junior varsity football and baketball. He also played on the varsity tennis team, and was a member of Lettermen's Club. 18 As a freshman at- Caruthers High, James was on the junior varsity football and basketball teams, he played on the varsity tennis team, and was nominated football homecoming king candidate. In remembering his past four years, James said, HWinning the Sierra Dequoia Division Championship was the best feeling I had in my sports career during my junior year of high school. Also, being a member of a contempory gospel group called 'tHeirborn and cutting an album were thrilling experiences for me. As you can obviously see, James deserved the title of 1981 Raider. Joyce Chow has been selected as our 1981 Raiderette. Joyce is a very outgoing person with a warm and friendly personality. As a Senior, Joyce showed leadership as the CSF president, Parliamentarian for Student Council, a Songleader, and on the varsity tennis team. Her Junior year she was class president a member of CSF, FBLA treasurer, on the varsity tennis team, and a Songleader. Joyce's Sophomore year was also a busy one, she was class president, a member of band and LA, CSF secretary, and played on the JV tennis team. She was also in Pep Club and a member of stage band.
