Mr. Holly Miller We, the students of the Caruthers Union High School, respectfully dedicate the 1955-56 La Puerta to Mr. Holly Miller, who has been a custodian at C. U, H. S, since 1952. Mr. Miller was born in Silver City, New Mexico on September 13, 1905. He attended school in Arizona but moved to California in 1929. Besides his duties at the school, he maintains a ranch here in the Caruthers district. To you, Mr. Miller, we dedicate the 1955-56 La Puerta because of your un-tiring help in the activities above and beyond your regular duties.

TRUSTEES MR, KLEPPER Superintendent: MR. ANDERSON MR. HANSEN. MR. TURMIRE Superintendent ' s Message: The graduating class of 1955 and 1956 has the honor of being the first graduating class from the New CARUTHERS UNION HIGH SCHOOL. The Class indeed has reaped a bounti- ful harvest. Several members of the class have received scholarships, honors, and awards. Examples of the outstanding awards are as follows: Kirby Hansen has received the principal appointment to Annapolis due to his outstanding scholastic achievement. This has been the first time that a student of this school has received such an outstanding honor. Ronald Uhles, another member of this graduating class, recently in competition with all Agricul- tural Students in California made a per- fect score on the Agriculture co-op test, which is the first time this has been accomplished in California. Many other graduates are likewise receiving great honors, as will be noted while viewing this annual. Congratulations are in order to this outstanding graduating class and to the teachers and administration who have guided so successfully this class to graduation. HARRY R.
