On October S, ls49, their class rings arrived, and with then came the assurance that these underclassmen, at last, were upperclassnen. nt the beginning of the year, they elected class officers as follows: president, Lila loveg vice president, Vernin retreyg sec- retary, Lhry From, treasurer, Lhrgaret Heed, Rally committee, aoretta Heed and Ernest hbserg Social committee, Ross Dille and Vernipe uewittg yell leaders, Barbara Rudolph and Marvin Jackson and representative to Student Council, Virginia Byrd. When they first started here as freshmen, they were rather air id to stand on their own feet. AS sophomores, they showed more of a tan- dency to 'try their wingsn and then, as juniors, they really Ste5ped forward, showing they had a good deal of ability by having a concessions booth at the fair, sponsoring a Dedication Queen Contest for the new gymnasium and finally, by putting on the farewell dance for the seniors, the Junior-Senior Prom on May 26.i Now they leave this year behind hoping to have as much fun and happiness during their senior year as they had as juniors.
