,Snnia ...flau,n!.Zf At last we, the class of 45 , are finishing our last year at Caruthers High. Much as We have wished for this day, it's coming brings us sorrow as well as joy. As Freshmen, we entered Caruthers 91 strong and after the first day we were 91 red Indians. Ignoring this grease paint we elected Harold Lawrence, presi- dent: Calvin Wise, vice president: Marie Stark, secretary, and Geraldine Graves, treasurer. During our Sophomore year we made Indians out of all the Freshmen we could catch the first two days. Then we elected Calvin Wise, presidentp Charles Wag- goner, vice-president: Wanda Brock, secretary, and Harold Beck, treasurer. As Iuniors we elected Charles Waggoner, president: Eddie Garcia, vice-presi- dent: Wanda Brock, secretary, and Melva Dildine, treasurer. The high points of this year were the Iunior program on dress-up day and the Iunior-Senior prom. Beginning our Senior year we elected William Ripley, vice-presidentg Geraldine Graves, secretary, and Charles Waggoner, treasurer. When Charles joined the Merchant Marine, we elected Margaret Ramey as his successor. ' The Senior class has taken part in many school ac- tivities and has sponsored several of them. Different members of the class have taken part in different activities such as sports, the Band, and the Cadet Company. Everyone took part in sports, but the out- standing ones were Harold Beck, Lawrence Kahn, Eddie Garcia, Charles Waggoner, and Roy Harris for the boys. The outstanding girls were Tiny Miller, Mar- garet Ramey, Eleanor Dostinich, and Sally Aguirre. In the Band we have Rollin Swacker, lack Camp- bell, Ben From, Charles Fink, Eddie Garcia, Roy Harris, and Melva Dildine, The Senior members of the Cadet Company are Ben From, William Ripley, Roy Harris, Eddie Garcia, and Henry Wise. These boys are pioneers in this field because this is the first year there has been a Cadet Company in Caruthers High. The Senior class also presented a Senior play which was the first presented in several years. It was given under the direction of Miss Wall on Iune l. The Iunior class entertained us at a Iunior-Senior prom on Iune 8. When we graduate from high school this summer, we will have realized our greatest ambition up to this time. But we will owe much of our success to the teachers and advisors who have helped us when we needed help, advised us when we needed advice, and admonished us when we got too uppity. With this thought of gratefulness in our hearts, we leave Caruthers High to seek our places in the world, or to go on to places of higher learning. president: Dorothy Printz, OFFICERS.
