Q Training for future careers, students enroll in typing, book- keeping, shorthand, mechanical drawing, distributive educa- tion, and agriculture. Students planning to enter the business fields have particular interest in the two years of typing and one year each of bookkeeping and shorthand taught. Through the distributive education program junior and senior students obtain part-time jobs and attend school on a half-day basis. 4 In the home economics courses students learn not only cooking and sewing, but also learn nutrition, home furnishings ethics, and child care. Students Learn Skills MRS. ALLENE ROBERSON BS Home Economics The agriculture department, with three years offered, includes a work room and a farm. To freshman students a drivers edu- cation course is offered. The course in- cludes a six-weeks class study and six Weeks of driving instruction. Physically fit community members are produced through the P.E. departments. A variety of sports-basketball, volley- ball, tennis, archery, baseball-are open to CHS students. MR.
