Award Class Valedictorian Kenneth Coffman - Boys’ State Judy Orum - Girls’ State Barbara Brooks - Class Salutatorian HONOR STUDENTS Each year, the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary choose students from the Junior Class to attend Boys’ and Girls’ State. The Daughters and Sons of the American Revolution recognize members of the Senior Class. These individuals are chosen on the basis of scholarship, citizenship, char- acter, leadership, and cooperation. Members of the National Honor Society are chosen by the faculty on the same basis from Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Classes. These members must have the vote of 75 per cent of the faculty. Special scholastic honors were awarded this year to Catharine Rice - certificate of Merit scholar; and Judy Orum - honorary State of Illinois scholarship.
