Orientation Orientation 1982 began with the ar- rival of new students Saturday September 4th. Members of the Car- thage staff met with parents while Students checked into their rooms. The Opening Cenvocation was followed by the orientation program and small group meetings of students with their faculty advisers. The band 'tXerox played for the ice-breaker dance Saturday night. The administer- ing of various tests Sunday morning in- troduced the new students to the academic aspect of Carthage. Things lightened up in the afternoon with gamefest, a non-competitive game series that provides opportunities to meet people. Sunday night the Old- Timers and the Community Advisers demonstrated their abilities at the Talent Show. Monday faculty members met with I Students to present their respective ' - . I I. departments. Homecoming 1982 e a Week of 6Good Vibrationstt L:- I Good Vibrationst' were felt September 27-October 3 as students participated in Homecoming 1982. Monday it was uCome Go With Me to the BrotherXSister Olympics and the movie HBeach Ball. The movie Beach Blanket Bingo added to Tuesday's Fun. Fun Fun BrothertSister Talent Show. Everyone was saying ttl Gotta Dance Wednesday when the band Balloons played at the all school keg- gar. Thursday the pep rally leaders showed us how to Be True To Your School. The movie Bikini Beach. the bonfire and the Kinthueen Corona- tion rounded out the day of school spirit. I Get Aroundu was the thought of students Friday as they danced to the music of ttCtass of '62 during the Beach Party All-Nighter. Saturday was a day of ttGood Vibrations as fans cheered the Redmen against North Central. The 14'10 loss didntt stop students from dancing to the sounds of uAnmsement Park?1 The week of Homecoming activities uShut Down Sunday with a brunch with the King and Queen. the Court, and the Homecoming Chairpersons.
