FOREWORD The fumiamental reason for the publica- tion of this annual is to give to Cartha- ginians a concise and enduring record of the peopie, the events, and the spirit of the school year just passing. We have attempted to present this history in a manner analagous to the usual conception of the three phases of college life -- The Mental, The Physical, The Social. This three-fold development is the ideal of the American small college. With this background of training We leave college with eager anticipation of the life ahead just as the early settlers clid upon arriving in America.
