THE I 932 CRIMSON RAMBLER VOL. XXI q-he Annual publication OF THE JUNIOR CLASS OF CARTHAGE COLLEGE Carthage, Illinois COPYRIGHT 1931 Published by the Class of 1932 E102r Eisfeller -- Editor George Overdier -- Business Manager Art and Engraving by Central Engraving Company St. Louis, Missouri Printed by Wagoner Printing Company Galesburg, Illinois photography by Anschntz Stuclio Keokuk. Iowa FOREWORD The fumiamental reason for the publica- tion of this annual is to give to Cartha- ginians a concise and enduring record of the peopie, the events, and the spirit of the school year just passing. We have attempted to present this history in a manner analagous to the usual conception of the three phases of college life -- The Mental, The Physical, The Social. This three-fold development is the ideal of the American small college. With this background of training We leave college with eager anticipation of the life ahead just as the early settlers clid upon arriving in America. DEDICATION To the founders, the present administration and faculty, and the patrons of Carthage College who through their devotion and sacrifice have aidecl her to attain her present standing as an insti- tution of higher learning. 11 1- n: w .- . .. i ' 'j' W. -J .3. . w'h. There were not enough girls out for class teams, so two teams were chosen, consisting of any girls who were at all inter- ested, whether they had been out for practice or not. Mildred Lundvall was captain of one team, which chose the appropriate name. t'Lucky Lundies,,. Mary Omer was captain of the Comets . These teams had three match games; the Lucky Lundies won one game but the ttComets kept them from winning the other two, both of which ended in :1 tie. Because of the conflicts between games and late afternoon classes, the regular W. A. A. point system was not used.
