H f! at as Coach Kindzierski accepting 2nd place trophy in Christmas Tournament. The Carteret Basketball team concluded their most successful season in many years. Not since the 1959-60 season has a Rambler team finished with a winning record. Included in its accomplishments was a second place finish in the Holiday Tournament. The highlight of the '474', season was a thrilling 68-66 victory over heavily favored Perth Amboy. This win represented Carteret's first victory over the Panthers in 14 years. Bob Molarz's last second shot provided the margin of victory. Carteret's success was truly a team effort. With five seniors and four juniors, Coach Kindzierski blended his winning formula. Offensively the Ramblers displayed a Well balanced attack While defensively they played a tough physical game. Led by seniors O,Connor, Sheridan, Stone, Molarz, and Dylag, Carteret defeated many of the top teams in the tough county conference. The Basketball fortunes of Carteret seem likely to continue. Along with the returning lettermen, Coach Kindzierski will be able to choose from a junior Varsity team that completed a 20-1 Season. The j.V. season included a Middlesex County Championship. The Carteret Frosh also completed a successful 13-3 season. Page 117
