Page 8 In remembrance of Mrs. Julia Hila An individual of countless talents and seemingly inexhaustible energy, Mrs. julia Hila has played a fundamental role in the advancement of the school system of Carteret. Before her untimely death on September 2, 1973, Mrs. Hila had served on the Carteret Board of Education for a total of thirteen years. In addition to this post, she served as Secretary of the Borough Planning Board, past President ofthe Carteret High School PTA, a member of various women's groups and an advisor to the St. Elias Catholic Youth Organization. Mrs. Hila held a particular interest for the youth of this and other communities, and succeeded in bridging the chasm of the generations with rare ease and genuineness. To all those who knew her, she emitted an aura of friendliness and eagerness to further any and all causes of particular value to her church and community. It is with a grateful remembrance and pride that we, the students of Carteret High School, pay tribute to a woman who embodied hopes and aspirations common to both the young and old of our community, a woman who possessed qualities of progressiveness and enlightenment to which we all strive.

In remembrance of Mrs. Marion Kelbf The loss of Miss Marion R. Kelly on March 2, 1974 inflicted all at Carteret High with a deep sense of sorrow and emptiness. A dilligent worker as well as an understanding counselor, Miss Kelly was well known to be both an asset and ajoy to all those with whom she worked. During her thirty-two years at Carteret High, Miss Kelly rose from teacher to guidance counselor and then to Director of Guidance. There can be no doubt that the loss of Miss Kelly will leave its scar with her many close friends and associates at Carteret High. The 'absence of one so genuinely helpful and kind will never be totally forgotten. In life, in death, 0 Lord, abide with me! Page 9
