The Hornets emerged from a victorious grid season with a 9-O record to cope the A Division Champion- ship. The squad was the first team in the Knoxville interscholastic League to go undefeated in 12 years, and the first team in Carter High history to have an unblem- ished record. One could easily recognize the Hornet team as a team with plenty of football ability and skill, but more out- standing than this were the team spirit and determination of the players. ln addition to these qualities the team showed some of the finest sportsmanship of any team at Carter High. It was not surprising that the stadium was filled to overflowing with enthusiastic fans at every game during the season.
