X. ssgssx rr . New - Thespian Troupe 1449 The National Thespian Society was organized in 1929 at Fairmont Teachers College. The society is composed of troupes in every state in the U.S. , The District of Columbia, Canada, and a number of foreign countries and was organized for the purpose of raising standards of the Dramatic Arts in secondary schools. Irs first aim is to create an active intelligent interest in dramatics. Second, it aims to develop an appreciation of good theatre, movies, radio and television. Third, it aims to improve the quality of the work done in dramatics in secondary schools. Carter received a charter as Troupe 1449 in the spring of 1953.
