FOOTBALL REVIEW Coach Hoyt Carrol in his second year as head football mentor coached one ofthe most inexperienced football teams in Carter High School history. The Green Hornets had only four experienced boys from last years team. But the future looks brighterfor the Hornets in the coming season with six- teen lettermen returning. The Green Hornets will have only one big spot to fill and that is at the right-halfback position which was filled by Captain Jackie Kirby. With so many in- experienced boys on the team how would any school record look? The Hornets failed to register a win in eleven games losing ten and tying one. But with sixteen lettermen return- ing from this year's team, football should have a bright fu- ture at Carter. Seniors lost by graduation are: Captain Jack Kirby, Owell McCarty, Bobby Rudder, Maynard Chesney, David Wy- rick, and Douglas Davenport. 82
