Dedication The Hi-Lites Staff of Ellsimore High School wishes to pay special recognition to a man deeply admired by all students of this school, faculty members, and community. With his natural manner and undying love for the student body at Ellsinore, he has won respect and admiration of all. Mr. Melvin Dale Privett was born May 4, 1933, in Ellsinore, Missouri. During his youth, he attended Ellsinore for six years, and two years in Mexico. He attended high school at Ellsinore, graduating in 1951. From November, 1952 to November, 1965, Mr. Privett served in the United States Air Force. He furthered his education while attending Harris Teachers College one year and the remainder at Southwest Missouri State, where he received his B.S.E. Social Studies was his major and English was his minor. Mr. Privett was Principal for a total of eight years, three years at Silox and five years at Ellsinore High School. Although he continued to teach, he also furthered his education study- ing at Southeast Missouri State, University of Missouri at Columbia, Mis- souri, and Southern Illinois University. It is not surprising that Mr. Privett, with his strong determination and ambition, would not want to expand his knowledge and use his many talents. At Three Rivers Junior College, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, he is now the Di- rector of Financial Aids. He is willing to help any of those who desire help or any cause which seems vital. Even though he works in another area, he still resides in Ellsinore, with his friends and former students. Ellsinore High School would like to express their sincere thanks for Mr. Privett's help in all the years he served as Principal.
