CLASS OF 82 PROPHECY The year is 2002. Twenty years after the members of the class of nineteen-hundred and eighty-two went out on their own to seek fame and fortune. I, GARTH QUADE, was sitting in my largest bank in Los Angeles, thinking about coming back to my home town, Ekalala, the biggest boom town in the United States, to open yet another bank. I called on my two main men, SCOTT WASHand HAROLD N1ES to get me there. Both men were fresh out of the Air Force. Scott was my personal pilot, and Harold my ace mechanic. After we had arrived in Ekalaka I was getting off of the plane, I bumped into WARD DYE, who had Just been elected as the BPA (Bald Persons of America) man of the year. Ward told me that he had taken a short vacation from the filming of his hit series. Ward to Ward, to come to the convention and he was now heading back to Hollywood for more filming. As Iwalked into the terminal I saw a women standing behind the counter yelling and screaming at everyone. As I moved closer for a better look I saw that it was none other than Deb Elmore. She told me that her and her best friend, Julie Hutton, were still the best of friends even though Julie had run off and got married without her permission. She said that Julie was very happily married because her husband also liked to argue. After 1 finished talking to Deb I rented a car and drove to the center of thes huge metropolis and thought T would stop in at the Old Stand Bar to get a little something to wet my throat with. The first two people I saw were SCOTT ELMORE and CLINT STERNS, Scott was trying to explain to Clint Just how good he did things in the Air Force but Clint was paying no attention to him, he was watching the bartender so he made everything Just right. Clint was the new proprietor of this fine establishment. As I talked to Scott I asked him what ERIC LOREN and JEFF ELMORE were doing. He said that they were in New York at the Madison Square Cardens competing for the Mr. Universe title. He also said that both were sute that they were going to win so it will probably be a tie. As I left the bar I met ALAN HAMMEL, he told me that he had Just bought his wife-to-be, her own hereford ranch. KILEE KUEHN came out of the store near by yelling sweetheart, honey. I knew she couldn’t be talking to me because I am already married, so it had to be Alan’s bride. She told me she didn’t even like cows, but it was worth it just to be with Alan. A1 invited me to come help load some cattle to take to his new ranch so I said that I would like to because I didn’t want to hurt his feelings. As we drove into the Hammei Estate I saw a few trucks out by the corrals already loading some of the cattle. When we got closer to the corrals it was none other than TOD HAGUE, who was the heir of Dague Trucking. After we loaded the trucks I asked Tod how he planned to drive three trucks al by himself, he said while he was in high school he developed very quick hands. Tod told me that LAURICE BEYER had finally cornered MEL MADER and that the wedding was to be on national television. The reason for this being that Mel was the greatest star ever to hit the NBA courts, and that Laurice was giving up over one thousand of her rich, elegant, beauty parlors just to marry him. I heard a rumor afterward that Laurice s best friend, LAURIE BROWN, was going to buy all of these parlors and hopefully follow in Laurice's footsteps, including Mr. Mader. I figured that 1 should go take a look at my new bank and see if everything was running as smooth as all of my other bands were. The first person I saw as I walked in the door was COLLEEN QUAM, Colleen said she had been working at the bank for over ten years and was happily married with several children. 1 said my farewell and when I turned around 1 saw LORA SMITH putting a huge amount of money into the bank. I stopped and asked Lora where in the world she received the money. She told me that she married STEVE ALLEN, and while he was in the Army, he and eleven other guys deserted and went down to South America and started their own guerrilla coop and were raiding villages down there for something to do. They were sending her the money for safe keeping until they got back. After 1 finished talking to Lora I decided to browse through the bank books to see if everything was all balanced out. The books were a mess, so there was only one thing to do, alll on world renown accountant JIM STRAND. Jim if often referred to in the business world as Brains , I think it’s because he has such a big head though. After calling Jim I went out in search of SHELLY KERR, I Was told that Shelly used to be a fashion jeans designer in Hollywood but had met a rich oil sheik and changed her name to Mrs. Estapha Hasheik Muhamad. Next I thought I would-cruise to Camp Crook, South Dakot and see my old friend JULIA LATHAM. She owns the local tavern in Crook which is said to be the biggest party palace in the United States. After visiting with her for a while she told me that TED WELCH was just notified that he is the long lost son of the late Howard Hughes, and that he will receive the entire Hughes fortune. He and his personal secretary, KARA KEITH, just left for New York to claim his fortune. Kara just retired from pro baskedball last year but she was bored and needed a hobby so she decided to become Ted's full time secretary. On the flight home I turned on the television and started watching the Indianapolis 500, 1 noticed that both STACEY MADISON and KARLA KNIPFER were leading the race. They were on the last lap and just about to finish, it looked like a tie. A news flash came on and the crisis in Poland had just been solved by Pope John Paul 111, alias, JOE BRUSKI. As I turned of the tube and relaxed, thinking about Joe being the Pope, I wondered, what will this world come to next. CWQ 23
