Together, with teamwork, and co-operation, among the students, and with the help of a great class sponsor, the class has had a barrel of fun, and has accomplished many goals. Among these goals have been the winning of three successive Home- comings, and two very successful class plays: The Night of January 16th, and Who Wouldn t Be Crazy? They also, in their Junior year, planned a very lovely prom around the theme Sayonora. This year the class has been kept busy with things like term papers, the Junior-Senior Prom and banquet. Career Day, and last minute details such as Class Night, a class picnic at the Medicine Rocks, and a banquet, given by the Senior mothers. The class chose as its motto Act as though you were to live for- ever; Live as though you were to die tomorrow. May they remember this motto as they part and go their separate ways. There is a tide in the affairs of men, Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune Omitted, all the voyage of their life Is bound in shallows, and in miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat; And we must take the current when it serves. Or lose our ventures. ____________________________________________________________________________________ _________ ••«William Shakespeare The Junior Class was very busy throughout the year with many different activities. The first big ev nt of the year was Homecoming, and in Decem- ber the Juniors became the proud owners of class rings. Next on the list of the year's events for the Juniors was their class play Hot Ice, which kept them busy for a time. After the play they began the preparation for the Junior-Senior prom. They decided upon the theme Song in My Heart, and it v.as held on April 22. This year, on the same night as the prom dance, the Juniors gave a banquet for the school faculty and the Seniors. The Juniors also participated in Career Day with the Seniors. This was the first time thct the Juniors were allowed to attend. Although they have enjoyed their status as Juniors, they re- alize that next year marks the time when they shall achieve the honors and privileges enjoyed by Seniors. Things were rather different this year, for instance. Freshman could take five solids, including French and World History—if they could keep their grades up. As is traditon, the Freshmen white washed the C as their initiation. They also participated in their first Homecoming, and the other events that spotlighted the school year. This year the Council sponsored a Halloween party and a Sweetheart Ball, originated a student flag raising ceremony, and started a study of the constitutions of the various or- ganizations to determine whether or not they met the qualifi- cations of the standard constitution. FLAG RAISING CEREMONY A flag raising ceremony was originated this year in which the student body assembled outside each Monday morning to show their respect for the flags of our nation and our state as they were raised. After a very successful Christmas concert, the chorus kept in tune and journeyed to the Miles City District Music Festival where it was awarded an excellent, the second highest rating. For the first time in seven years, a representative from the Carter County High School music department was chosen to perform at the Festival Concert.
