CLASS HISTORY % When we entered our Senior and final year of school in the fall of 1963 we found that Carol Schweigert, Mona Williams, John Bergstrom, Marcie Jardee, and Bob Kittelmann were no longer with us. At our first class meeting we chose Jim Johnstone president, Joe 'Whitney vice president , Lorine Renshaw secretary-treasure, Kenny Blutt student council repre- sentative, and Mr. Rielly was our class sponsor. Homecoming came with its usual excitement. .This being our last year, we worked harder than ever to have Barbie Hofeldt, our candidate, crowned aueen, but we were not successful. On April 22 we went to Miles City to Career Day. We listened to teachers from different colleges representing different professions and were free to ask questions. The following day we presented our senior play Beef Stew , to the grade school and in the evening we present- ed it again to a large and enthusiastic audience. Next we sponsored a steak fry at the Ekalaka Park; HKd George it was very successful and everyone had a good time. May 16 was the Junior-Senior Prom with the theme of Story Book Ball . That night Linda Johnson was named Prom Queen and Don Johnstone was Prom King. May 19 was the Senior banquet given to us by Mr. Rowley. Both the grade school and high school faculty were present. Everyone present enjoyed the well prepared supper. We are now ready to leave the halls of the Carter County High School and go our separate ways. Along with our gladness we can’t help bii: feel a note of sad- ness at leaving our many friends. 15 ■i • i. v v i7i(U‘v Kk4 « toc r! JUNIORS Tony Nies, Student Council Representative; Candy Curry, Secretary- Treasurer; Earl Collins, President. CLASS HISTORY Juniors at last! We entered the doors of CCHS on August 26, 1963, thirty-three in number. At our first class meeting, which was presided over by our new class sponsor, Mr. Boyd, we chose our officers. They were Neil Howell as follows: Earl Collins, president; Neil Howell, vice president; Vice-President Candy Curry, secretary-treasurer; and Tony Nies, student council representative. Sharon Tooke was chosen to represent our class as queen candidate and we were very thrilled to see her crowned Homecoming Queen on October 19. Out class rings arrived in November and we liked them very much. We presented our class play, Somethin’s Cookin’ February 13 in the high school gymnasium to a large and enthusiastic audi- ence. Candy Curry and Sharon Tooke were named Girls’ State dele- gates with Linda Brence and Donna Bush as alternates. Earl Col- lins and Bill Wear were named Boys’ State delegates with Gary Jardee and Tony Nies as alternates. The Junior-Senior Prom was held on May 16. The theme was Story Book Ball. We had a lot of fun decorating the gym, and the dance was a complete success. Now that our junior year has ended, we eagerly await our senior year. 18 In their junior year, students -nay take electives such as chemistry vhich prepare then for further edu- cation. Our class consisted of thirty-three students. Sue McLean and Linda Mulkey 0fConnor were not with us and during the year we were sorry to lose Judy Knowles and Marjorie Trabert. Joy Jones joined us, and later Ken Solomon became part of the sophomore class. Joy left us a few months later. Our first class meeting was supervised by our class sponsor Mr. Markuson. Officers elected were Mike Howell as president, Herb Kerr as vice-president, Sherri Lynn Stenseth as secretary-treasurer,and Evalynne Emerson as student coun- cil representative. Plans were soon underway for homecoming We worked hard to support our homecoming queen candidate, Mary Culver. We supervised the freshmen when they whitewashed the C , and we sponsored several sock-hops during the year. As our sophomore year ends, we are thinking of the sub- jects and activities available for next year. We are antici- pating next year as we will then be upperclassmen.
