VARSITY BASEBALL Carson ' s ' 84 baseball team is coached by Mr. Park, coach of 1983 ' s Junior Varsity team. Coach Park seemed very optimistic about this season and his team. He was noted to say, Varsity is a strong team I think we have a good ch ance to make it to the playoffs for the first time in five years. Although their preseason record was 1 in 3, Varsity had a good season. Coach Park encouraged his players to their greatest potential. There are many outstanding play- ers on the awesome team. Tney in- clude Joey Saenz, the number one pitcher of the team, Donnie South- er land, the best all-around player, Roy Tavui, best hustling player, and Angelo Martinez, the short-stop who is considered potential major league material. PONY BALL EXPRESS This year ' s Junior Varsity Softball Team are a group of determined young ladies who believe that prac- tice makes perfect. Everyday these dedicated players stay after school perfecting their defense as well as their offense. At the end of the season, the out- standing defensive effort of one of the players is recognized by the Pony Ball Award. This year ' s returning players were: Ash and Hash Kumagai, Rosalyn Manu, and Lynn Alafaituli. 1. Ash Kumagai smiles as she throws the ball to the infield. 2.
