VARSITY FOOTBALL: A GREAT BEGINNING Coach Vollnogle and his assistants showed great skill by leading the Colts to four preseason victories. The season started with an emotion- al win over St. Paul. From then on it was easy breezing. After St. Paul, the Colts dominated Narbonne by shut- ting them out 34-0. The Colts then met C.I.F. rival, Com p ton High at Cerritos College. The easiest win was over Valley League team, Van Nuys. The pre- season was just an indication of what to look for from the Colts this sea- son. Colosseum, here we come! CARSON ' S FINEST!!! Gaining a victory in every seasonal game they played, Carson ' s Football Team had a great season. They gave their best effort against Gardena; their hard work paid off with a 35 yard field goal by Reinaldo Caceres, proving that pride and effort add up to a winning score. Carson beat Gar- dena at Cerritos College with a final score of 20- 19 thus becoming one of the most memorable games of the season.
