Local schools were asked to invite students in their leadership programs to a discussion and luncheon hosted by the Colts. PALOMINO POWER ' 84 CHRISTINE KUMANO ANGELA BENDER NERIE MOJICA The job of EDITOR-IN-CHIEF is vital to a good yearbook. 1984 ' s EDITOR-IN-CHIEE, Christine Kumano was busy developing the opening color section which sets the tone for the entire book. Chris worked long hours on the cover design, general lay-out, senior sec- tion and index. As BUSINESS MANAGER, Angela Bender played an important roll in ' 84 ' s book. The BUSINESS MAN A GER ' s position calls for com - pletc reliability and precision. Angela kept track of all funds related to sales, ads and de- signed the ad section. Being both MANAGING EDITOR and SPOR TS EDITOR of the 1984 Palomino, meant work and responsibilities. Besides making sure deadlines were met, erie also had the task of organizing a staff, scheduling photo sessions, designing basic page lay-outs and proofread- ing all materials. Special thanks go to past advisor Bob Workman for all his help this year. Mr. Workman dedicated long hours to provide wonder- ful photographs and mor- al support. The workers in a yearbook staff must have many qualities: Imagination, determination, mo- tivation, and above all, a sense of humor. Staff members begin prepar- ing each yearbook far in advance of the June release date. Each Fall semester, students begin the dif- ficult job of hunting up patrons. Then the pages begin to take shape. Staffers develop a theme and lay-out design each page. Long hours, during and after school, go into every division. The strains and stresses of dead- lines call for strength and a spe- cial ability to smile while under pressure. 216
