1983-84 BAND DRILL TEAM COMPETITIONS! PERSONALITY, PEP, PRECISION = PROFESSIONAL SKILL What many ardent sports fans fail to realize when they watch the professionally skilled Band and Drill Team, is that the skill level involved is tremendous. Long hours of practice in the cold of late November, huddling together in the rain waiting for a half-time show, praying for the dry cleaners to hurry with a late uniform; all are part of the behind-the-scenes mayhem that the happy audience rarely sees. Also rarely seen is the strain of competition. Band and Drill Team do not just parade around the football field; they often compete with other teams from Southern California. Military style and other forms of precision movements are judged much as Olympic ath- letes are judged. In this year of Olympic games so close to home, it is exciting to know the Colt ' s have a Drill Team that matches some of the best in the State. Way to go Colt ' s.
