“Gflass Druphecg It was on the evening home from work and decided Carson, Iowa. I loaded and was on my way. Before haven Court in Bakersfield, of July twenty seventh, when I hurried to take a trip to my old home town of new pink cadillac down with suitcases leaving, I phoned ahead to the Rest- to get reservations for the night. I my discovered one of my schoolmates was chambermaid there and I could hardly wait till I saw Dorothy Shanno. We had a short visit and she told me that she and Ernie had been married for two years. I left early the next morning and as I stopped to have my car filled with gas before crossing into Oregon, I noticed the man washing my windshield was Cliff Jefferson. He took me to his home, and I met his wife and six lovely children. I was surprised to find out he had married another of our classmates, Donna Jo Pierce. They had a lovely home and after we had taken their six children to school, I was on my way again. I had gone over 300 miles this time before I hit another stop. This time I recognized Dale Boruff walking along side the road. He said he was a driver for Jimmy Lynch. His car broke down and he was walking to town for repairs. He said that Doug Hall was his duel partner. I took him on into town and we met Doug. I stayed over to see their show and after the show they took me to the Silver Slipper for dinner. Barbara Schroder was the head waitress and when she saw me, she dropped a tray bad about this, but she down anyway. All four Doug's dance halls. He of dishes and was fired! I felt pretty said she wanted to get married and settle of us left and went dancing at one of said he had a big surprise for me and when we got there, I found Jimmy Baker and his orchestra were playing. He asked me to sing a few songs with them for publici ty, so I did. He had a very good orchestra except for one of the clarinet players who was always playing louder than anyone else. I found out later that the clarinet player was his wife Sandra Forbus. She talked just as much as ever, so Jim thought it was a good idea to put her in the orchestra. I stayed during the night with Barb at her apartment. Instead of getting to sleep, we stayed up and talked about old limes. The next morning we said good-bye and we were both on our way. I was so sleepy, I couldnt hardly stay awake and I side-swiped a milk truck and landed in a, ditch. The next thing I knew, I was in a hospital with a nurse taking my temperature. The nurse happened to be another .ef .my classmates, Florence Hooker. We had a good chat and she said the woman driver of the milk truck was Marjorie Haines. She came in to see me later and told me to seg her lawyer and get everything straightened out. I thanked Florence for being such a good nurse and we left. As we pulled over to the side of the street in her car, we met a parade, in the front row, were Marines and B111 Davis! Marching behind the marines were the W. M. C. and we saw another of our chums, Shirley Brumley. They stopped right beside our car, so we talked about twenty minutes. When the parade was over we drove on over to Marjoriefs lawyer. It was a woman law- yer and her name was very familiar, then I realized it was Bev -Husz. After we had talked and exchanged old memories, she told
