Would anyone have ex- perienced the real world if it weren ' t for Mr. Bierman? The real world is being responsible, being able to face reality as it is with its ups and downs, said Mr, Bierman, Being the real person or humanitarian that he was, he too had some story of his life to share. Life in high school was dif- ferent during his teenage years, The emphasis was put on graduating from high school, he said. According to Mr, Bierman, he didn ' t even plan on going to college. However, on a whim, he applied for a scholarship which he got; therefore, he decided that he would go. How was he as a high school student? I wasn ' t the greatest student, he said. How did he try to get out of homework? I don ' t ever recall taking a book home, he said. What was the social at- mosphere in his surroundings like? I grew up in a small mining town in Minnesota, he said. Did they party like students today did? Yes, we partied, but it was different. There were no such things as drugs. The whole philosophy was different. There was more socializing. We weren ' t as rambunctious, where here the emphasis is just on get- Mr. Bierman at age 3 ting wasted, he said. But were they rambunctious at all? What was the crudest prank that he played on a teacher?
