Annett Randall and Karen Malmstrom, juniors of Carson High School, spent an exciting five weeks in Mexico last summer. To send the two students to the Spanish Workshop of Monterrey, the Spanish Club raised over one thousand dollars through candy sales and PTA Variety Show ticket sales and received a donation from the PTA. For three weeks they and thirty other students from all parts of the United States studied Spanish, Mexican history, and folk dances. There were recreational activities and sight-seeing excursions. Trav- eling as far south as Acapulco, Karen and Annett then toured Mexico, visiting Taxco, Mexico City, and other places of interest. They returned home tired and Without money, but both girls agreed that it had been a wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
