SLITLIFF, Mlunxn Students of Carson High School will be among the millions of young people who soon find themselves responsible members of a society faced with the realization that we are on the threshold of another great era in the history of mankind. Our young people must recognize that they have a serious responsibility to their fellow man and the nation, a responsibility that can be assumed only if each one goes about his business of education in a mature manner, taking advantage of all the opportunities that are offered daily. Those failing to do so are cheating not only themselves but their nation. Research into the secrets of nature will produce future discoveries more startling than nuclear fission. Eventual triumph of decency and freedom and right will result from the hard work and sacrifice of all citizens. We must be equipped to live in an age of inter-continental ballistic missiles. We must beequipped to meet human problems with wisdom and courage. Students of today will be citizens that this nation will look to for leadership tomorrow, and they must prepare now to assume this duty. C ll P B
