ear iarg- Hudon Price-his exceptional good character to all who can live up to it. Lanier Price-his bored expression in class to all who are as bored as he has been. Pat Radcliff-her much-sought-after position as Captain of Cheer- leaders to Margie Bonner. Donald Robinson--his versatility to Lee New. Bobby Sledge-his quick mind to Moses Morgan. Dot Smith-her athletic interest to all people willing to play the game. Virginia Smith---her editorship of the GRB to Iames Wynn. Sara Stallings-her quiet, studious ways to loe Harmon. Betty Thaxton-her friendly smile to Monica Harris. Roger Thornton-rank of No. l Romeo to all would-be lovers. lack Threadgill-his tardy record to Alice Borders. Donnie Todd-'her cheerful outlook on life to Iune Moore. William Traylor-his shy technique with girls to Billy Sampler. lackie Ward-her mathematical ability to Horace Hendrix. Willene Warren-her sweet, feminine ways to Ioyce Cumbie. Billy Ioe Williams his unhurried manner of locomotion to Don Arrington. Marvin Williamson-his Mercury-like speed to Bobby Simonton. The first reunion of the grand old class of '47 was convened today in the marble halls of dear old C.H.S. Twenty years have passed since I was a Senior at this Fountain of Knowledge, and it was wonderful to see all my former classmates again. Hu Don Price, the famous circus barker, and his wife, Aline Kaylor, the equally famous tight-rope walker, were there talking to their old friend, Bob Garrett, now chairman of the International Society for Prevention of Cruelty to cats. Up from Florida for the event were lulia McElroy and her husband, Bob Sledge, the famous fruit growers. They were telling of their latest - a squirtless grape- fruit. Billy Williams held an audience spellbound in one corner doing a scene from Hamlet, Critics say he is the greatest Shakesperian actor since Barrymore. With him was his press agent, Monteen Anderson. In one corner I saw Pat Radcliff, thrice mar- ried and twice divorced, renewing an old fiame with Cliff Barnes. now principal of C.H.S. Pat's latest was Marvin Williamson, now doing a stretch in Sing Sing for failure to pay his income tax. The Duchess of Rochester CBetty Patterson to the Class of '47J was there reminiscing with Wiley Allgood over the good ole days. Wiley is a neat success in the political world and at present is running for the iob of dogcatcher in Clem. His only opponent is Betty Barker. Becky Burns and Harvey Beall were discussing their latest book, My Life at C.H.S., to be followed by Life Can Be Beautiful. Two of the most popular '47 'graduates were over in a corner discussing their latest business venture. They were Willene Warren and Betty Thaxton, co-owners of the Last Hope Beauty Salon. Two more business partners were intent on selling their business to the gathered crowd. Iack Lawler and Raleigh Cannon, owner and manager of the best funeral parlor in Carrollton, were passing out business cards with the welcoming comment, Always glad to see you. Hollis Nixon was very impressive as he strode into the meeting, dressed in black tails and white bow tie, with his wife, Maria Allen, following indiscreetly behind. Hollis recently won 52,000,000 on a quiz program for answering the question, Who is the present President of the U. S.? Now he owns a sugar planta- tion in New Orleans. His manager of the plantation is Martha Almon, who sees that all the sugar is used wisely and not a drop is wasted. Ioan Levens and Barbara Kuglar were catching up on all their talk. Ioan is now Representative to Congress from Georgia and her clothes rival the famous Clare Booth Luce's. Barbara is chief psychologist at Mayo Clinic. All the ladies began to sigh when Stringnose walked in. He is the idol of all Movieland and has taken over Durante's position as the Nose , William Traylor and the missus, loyce McGinnis, were late because one of their pets on their skunk farm in New Iersey had become illg however they were able to secure the best skunk doctor in the world, Iackie Ward, and all is well now. Donnie Todd, Beatrice Lumsden and Betty Payton were all dis- cussing their new roles in Dura Mae Aldridge's hit play, He Went to the Races, or She Went Home to Mother. Reverend Tom Martin came rushing in at the last minute. Seems he was called on to marry someone. Sue Pentecost and Sara Stallings were there together. These two are great workers for the Salvation Army. Lanier Price, the loaded dice manufacturer, and Donald Robinson, big-time gambler, were signing a contract over in one corner. Dot Smith, housewife de luxe, was envying Betty Plexico, the Sweet- heart of Broadway. Betty recently received a diamond from her ardent admirer, Roger Thornton, playboy of the White Way. Mal- colm Brovvn and Iackie Hay were at the party in wheelchairs. Seems they're still suffering the effects of putting out an Annual. And standing in a corner were Harold Lane and Miss Louise Smith, deep in a heated debate on whether men should remove their hats on entering an elevator. Harold is the famous Metropolitan Opera star and Miss Smith has retired as a teacher. She has now revised the American English book and has received world-wide recognition for her efforts. Yes, dear Diary, today was a great day. The class of '47 has proved to be an exciting and very successful group of characters, who are playing their parts well on the stage of life. I shall enioy using them all as case histories in my next hook., -VIRGINIA SMITH
